Painter and cartoonist, Chillemi Fernández was born in 1968 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has been dedicating his time and energy to art since 1989. He studied with the “artists and professors of the city” studio and in the Argentine Congress National studio of art.
Chillemi Fernández’s work has won awards in various competitions, among them, he took third prize in drawing at the Argentine National Hall of Visual Arts. He has worked extensively in Argentina and internationally. In 2010 and 2017 he shared two different exhibitions with his colleague and friend, Pablo Salvadó at Soka University of America in Southern California. In 2011, Chillemi was commissioned to direct a drawing and painting workshop in Toledo, Spain. Chillemi was also commissioned by the Spanish women's clothing company, Nice Things Paloma S., to contribute images for various collections.
In 2016 Chillemi exhibited in São Paulo, Brazil and in 2020 he designed the “End Game” album cover art for San Diego based band, Be Mine Phanton Valentine. In 2021, Chillemi’s works were exhibited at the AT 388 gallery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During that same year back in Buenos Aires, he participated in the exhibition La Violencia en el Espacio (Violence in Space) together with Luis Martínez Salas, at the Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos building (former ESMA).
Chillemi’s works are in individual and private collections in: Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, United States, Spain, Holland, Sweden, France, Austria, Ireland, Italy, Germany, England, Portugal, Greece, Scotland, South Africa, Korea and Japan.
